Meade and Robin Martin at Compost Santo

Robin & Meade Martin, Owners

Meade’s family has been farming and ranching near El Rito for as long as New Mexico has been a state.  Robin’s family has been ranching in New Mexico for 100 years, and farming in the Nambé valley for more than 65 years. The couple raised their two children on the family farm in Nambé and served as 4H leaders in their children’s club.

Meade is a licensed contractor. He is an acequia commissioner and participates in the Pojoaque Valley Irrigation District. He is a graduate of the New Mexico Environment Department’s training program for solid waste managers.

Robin is a journalist. She has raised livestock, flowers, and vegetables all her life, and is a graduate of the Los Alamos Master Gardeners’ program. Her flowers and vegetables have won several blue ribbons at the Santa Fe County Fair.

Their composting facility is registered with the New Mexico Environment Department’s solid waste division.
